I am well into my forties, never married and childless. The older I get, the more I understand my single "situation," as my mother calls it, is not the albatross of doom I was led to believe it would be. On the contrary, remaining unattached is a legitimate, rewarding way of life. I hope sharing my own perspective encourages others living solo to acknowledge how good we have it. Even more so, I hope it helps women in tough situations realize there is an additional path they may not previously have considered. You are not alone, but maybe you should be.
